State University of New York (SUNY) is a public college founded in 1861 as the Oswego Primary Teachers Training School. SUNY College at Oswego Application Requirements

To be admitted into SUNY College at Oswego, a student must provide an official transcript, a business essay discussing the student's experiences and goals, purpose statement indicating the reason for applying for the online MBA program, resume, two letters of recommendation and an application fee. Application to the school's online MBA program is done so on a rolling basis, and interested students must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college. Applicants must also have at least a 2.6/4.0 undergraduate grade point average as well as a minimum score of 500 on the Graduate Management Aptitude Test for admission. Applications are reviewed after the prospective student has paid the $65 application fee and submitted all required materials. Reviews typically take two to four weeks, and the student will receive an official decision in the mail.

Tuition and Financial Aid

In-state students can expect to pay $600 per credit hour for the online MBA, while out-of-state residents will pay $1,016 per credit hour. SUNY College at Oswego offers a number of financial aid options for eligible students, including scholarships, loans and grants. The school also offers education programs for veterans, including the post-9/11 GI Bill and the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program through the Veterans' Administration. Education benefits include the Veterans' Educational Assistance Program, the Survivor's & Dependent's Educational Assistance Program and the Montgomery GI Bill for selected reserve and active veterans.

Students must also complete a capstone course in management policy, which will cover the study of decision-making and strategic management within an organization. Electives may include advanced auditing, which will cover the methods involved in electronic auditing as well as professional liability and responsibility in the event of audit failure and the analysis of risks associated with the audit process. Other electives include financial accounting theory, public sector accounting, project management, personnel management, employment law and cyber law, which will examine the regulatory and legal environment of e-businesses.

Students will learn the characteristics, types and concepts of management information systems with an emphasis on microcomputer applications as well as financial management skills which incorporate the quantitative methods utilized in rational business decision-making. The curriculum will emphasize basic analytical tools and financial concepts, current liability management, current asset management and capital budgeting under conditions of risk and certainty. Marketing management courses will explore marketing functions and techniques with an in-depth analysis of problems through cases.

Online students will also focus on the formulation of deterministic linear models, sensitivity analysis and linear programming. Coursework will include topics relating to the challenges and opportunities associated with doing business in the international arena with a special emphasis on the multinational firm, the international allocation of productive and financial resources, the management of political and financial risk, the complexity of marketing and managing due to environmental diversity, the implications of international business and the structures and strategies of international business.
