The University of North Texas, based in Denton, is a major public research university. University of North Texas Application Requirements

A selective school, the University of North Texas suggests that all incoming freshman complete their application via email well before the deadlines stated on their website.

Those applying for graduate programs must apply through the Toulouse Graduate School and must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. They must also achieve a specific grade point average that is determined by the type of degree they are seeking.

Students must also meet a standardized admission test score requirement. Students from foreign countries must display satisfactory proficiency in both written and spoken English before they will be allowed to proceed with admission.

Those applying to the Toulouse Graduate School must also supply an official transcript from all colleges or university previously attended, official scores from the testing services required, an application for admission to the Toulouse Graduate School and the required application fee.

Additional requirements may apply to those changing majors, returning to school after a break, applying for a graduate program they do not hold a bachelor's degree in, international students, transfer students, or for those with a low grade point average.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Costs for in-state tuition and all associated fees and living costs for an in-state student average $23,780 per year. The average cost for out-of-state students is $36,020. These costs are based on 15 hours of classes per semester.

The average costs for a graduate student taking 9 hours of classes per semester is $27,696 for in-state students and $27,696 for out-of-state students.

The University of North Texas offers a wide range of scholarships and financial aid to assist students in their cost of education. The school awards $45 million annually in scholarships which are based on both merit and need. They also supply students with over $350 million in financial aid and over 75% of students attending the college receive some form of financial assistance.
