History and Founding

Originally founded in 1929, Marist College is situated on a 210-acre campus that overlooks the Hudson River. Marist College began as an educational facility to train the next generation of Marist Brothers and is now considered a top arts and sciences college around the entire country. Accreditation Details

The Marist College School of Management has been accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This accreditation has been received by a premier agency that provides accreditation for doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degree programs in accounting and business administration.

Additional organizations that have provided accreditation for Marist College include:

  • CAATE – The Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education for all athletic training education programs.
  • ACS – American Chemical Society has approved the departments of physics, biochemistry, and chemistry.
  • NAACLS – The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science has accredited the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences.

Application Requirements

For first time, freshmen students at Marist College, it is necessary to fill out the online application. Prospective students can also download, print, fill out, and mail the application if desired. In addition to submitting the application, prospective students must also provide copies of their school transcripts and forward the results of their ACT or SAT exam to be considered for admission. Additional requirements for freshmen students include a personal essay, at least one letter of recommendation, a non-refundable application fee, and the required application supplements.

Graduate students, transfer students, and international students are also welcome at Marist College. Each of these groups of students must also submit the application for admission, admission fee, transcripts, and other relevant information to be considered for admission to Marist College.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Full-time tuition for Marist College is $17,275 per semester for both the fall and spring for 12 to 16 credits. If a student enrolls in more than 16 credits per semester, there is an additional fee of $650 per credit. Students must also pay fees to attend Marist College, which include:

  • Health services fee of $150 per semester
  • Activity fee of $40 per semester
  • Activity fee of $130 per semester
  • Health insurance plan fee of $1,812 per year
  • Orientation fee of $100 or $130 for international students

If a student opts to reside on campus, they will also be required to pay the set residents rate. These fees range from $4,675 to $6,000 based on the year in college, as well as where the individual will reside on campus. Dining plans are also available that can be pre-paid, as well as other miscellaneous fees such as a room reservation deposit of $200 (for returning students) and a room key fee of $50.

Outside scholarships are able to be used at Marist College, as well as the FAFSA application for federal student financial aid. There are also Endowed Scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of parents, alumni, trustees, and friends of Marist College, there are several endowed scholarships available. Each offering requires the applicant to meet specific criteria and the awards range between $500 and $5,000. Distribution of the awarded amount is made to the student in two equal payments during the spring and fall semesters.

Online Degrees

There is no question that computers are extremely powerful tools for learning and teaching. Modern information technology provides students the power to research, question, and explore any topic they can imagine. Marist College has worked to incorporate technology as an essential part of a student's education process.

If a student decides to pursue a degree in Information Technology, they will attend the Marist College's School of Computer Science and Mathematics. This is a 57,000 square foot facility on the campus referred to as the Hancock Center. The Hancock Center includes a National Science Foundation-funded laboratory, executive presentation center, six seminar or conference room, seven classrooms, 30 faculty offices, two general use computer labs, and one networking computer lab.

The mission of the Information Technology program is to prepare students to work and live in a technologically driven and rapidly changing world. Some of the features of this school and program include:

  • Students have the ability to work on campus in the Academic Learning Center or the Department of Information Technology
  • Modern computer labs available for students to use on campus
  • Internships available with several big companies, such as Goldman Sachs, USAA, and IBM

The bachelor's and master's degree programs in Information Technology are designed for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in cyber-security, database management, or computer networking. This degree program will provide students with both organizational and technical expertise for management, development, and the design of IT systems all while ensuring that technology functions are properly setup and working efficiently and reliably.

If a student opts to enroll in the Master's Information Technology degree program, some of the classes they will take include Information Systems Policy, Systems Design, Information Analysis, Data Communications, Data Management, and Systems and Information Concepts in Organizations.
