Trevecca Nazarene University originated in 1901 when Presbyterian Reverend J.O. McClurkan started the Literary & Bible Training School for Christian Workers. A decade later, it added bachelor's degrees and was named Trevecca College after Lady Huntington's 18th-century Wales institution. In 1917, it was financially bolstered by the Church of Nazarene, the largest Wesleyan-Holiness denomination. In 1937, it acquired Southeast Nashville land to start its current 47-building "Music City" campus in Middle Tennessee. Accredited in 1969, Trevecca Nazarene University advanced to the master's level in 1984 and doctoral level in 1999. Recently, TNU launched a high-price merger with Eastern Nazarene College too. Trevecca Nazarene University Accreditation Details

In 2013, Trevecca Nazarene University satisfactorily met the academic standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to renew the Level V accreditation for the maximum 10 years under its 11th president, Dr. Dan Boone. Headquartered 250 miles southeast by Interstate 24 in Decatur, this credible 11-state Cumberland Plateau accreditor is recognized by the Council on Higher Education (CHEA) to check the learning effectiveness of TNU's 15 associate, 84 baccalaureate, 12 master's, and two programs. The School of Education had its CAEP accreditation reaffirmed by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) unit in 2016. Additionally, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Educational Programs (CACREP) accepted the Ph.D. in Clinical Counseling in July 2017.

Trevecca Nazarene University Application Requirements
