For more than seventy years, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center has proudly trained, developed and graduated over 10,000 highly-skilled physicians, and has encouraged the students to embark on a life-long journey of self-satisfaction, community healing and global impact. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Zale Lipshy University Hospital, Parkland Memorial Hospital and Children's Medical Center, all of which are used to train aspiring physicians.
Over the years, the medical center has risen to the top of the ranks and has established a strong reputation as being one of the top medical schools in the nation. Admitting only about 230 students each year, the competition is fierce. The University prides itself on selecting only the best and brightest medical minds to pursue their careers and fulfill their dreams.
To this day, the University upholds its mission to educate the future of healthcare professionals, conduct meaningful professional medical research and to deliver unprecedented, high quality patient care in a safe and efficient manner.
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center maintains accreditation through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Through this accreditation, the medical school is able to issue B.S., Master's and Doctoral degrees.

Housing costs fluctuate, as well. There are several reduced-rate apartment complexes nearby that students can take advantage of.
The cost of tuition to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School is significantly lower than other public medical schools in the country. The medical school, however, does recognize the importance of providing financial assistance to those who may require some help financing their medical education.
