Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT) is a coeducational, private research university in Hoboken, New Jersey. It was incorporated in 1870 and is one of the oldest technological universities in the country. SIT was also the first university in the U.S. dedicated solely to mechanical engineering, and it is home to three national Centers of Excellence as designated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Defense.
