University of Pennsylvania Application Requirements
Applicants can apply to the University of Pennsylvania using the Common Application. Alongside the Common Application students must submit:
- Official High School Transcripts
- Standardized testing scores (either SAT with Writing and two SAT subject tests or the ACT with Writing)
- Teacher Evaluations
- Personal Essay
- $75 non-refundable fee
Students may also be contacted for an interview if they are applying for early admission. This is based on interviewer volunteer availability. These interviews take place on campus or virtually.

Tuition and Financial Aid
The estimated tuition for undergraduate students living either on campus or in off-campus housing is estimated to be $66,800 per year. This is inclusive of books, fees, room and board.
Students who are living at home are estimated to pay $55,100 per year in tuition and fees.
The Wharton MBA is estimated to cost $68,210 for the first year of tuition, but the school predicts that students will need a budget of $97,542 to cover all of the first-year expenses.

Wharton School of Business
The Wharton School of Business is internationally recognized as one of the leaders in collegiate business schools. The school allows students to take classes throughout the university’s course catalog as well as the core courses within the business school so that students can achieve a well-rounded education. Wharton is very active and provides many different activities for its students. The school is progressive in their teaching of leadership and other teamwork skills, and it encourages its students to take on leadership roles both in the classroom and in their lives.
Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts in Business
Students at Wharton take approximately 60 percent of their degree credits from the business school and 40 percent from the other schools at the University of Pennsylvania. Wharton offers both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Business, and the distinction will be made during the third and fourth years of study when students begin to choose their specialization tracks and career paths.
During the first two years of a business degree at Wharton, students will take the following core courses:

Wharton also offers ample opportunities for students to study abroad. The study abroad options are ideal for students who are interested in global business and cultures. Students must being to plan for their year abroad one year in advance. They must also have a 3.0 GPA, be in good academic standing, have no disciplinary record, have completed the fundamental courses required for business students and meet any other criteria for their selected program.
The Wharton MBA is a full-time program that takes place over 20 months. Students pursuing an MBA can choose one or more options from a list of 18 different majors. Most students choose two majors and selective their elective courses based on a further subject of interest so they that they can maximize their options and have a fully flexible degree. Classes at Wharton are taught by both faculty and business leaders who teach business theory that is relatable to modern practices in business.
During their first year, students will be required to take a leadership course. Their leadership skills will grow as they take advantage of leadership ventures, workshops and fellowships throughout their studies. They will also be offered one-on-one executive coaching.
The Wharton MBA also offers a global learning experience with study abroad options as well as practicums and global experience at home. Students may choose from dual-degree programs as well as global courses. There is an optional global immersion program offered by the school for second-year students.
